"Why Do People Feel Stuck at Work?"
Type that question into your favorite search engine and see what comes up. No, really! I'll wait!
The answers will take awhile.
The truth of the matter is that there is not one clear answer. There are many reasons.
Here are just a few:
-
The pay and benefits.
-
The comfort zone.
-
Fear of the unknown.

The pattern becomes recognizable after you spend 20+ years observing human behavior at work, train over a few hundred people, lead a few teams, build programs, actively engage in the hiring process, put out a fire or two...you get the idea. These feelings manifest themselves in statements, most often sounding like:
-
"I'm burnt out. I don't even know what I would do if I weren't doing this."
-
"I'm stuck."
-
"I can't leave. My team needs me."
-
"I can't take a pay cut."
-
"I don't have enough experience. No one would hire me."
-
"I like it here; but there's no options to grow. So I need to find something else."
That's a problem I can solve.
As a Career Coach, I specialize in 'Stuck'.
What I discovered over the years was that the pattern doesn't have to be a pattern. With the right coaching, a person can discover their own path and skillset, resulting in increased confidence, job satisfaction, and company retention. Unhappy talent is a wasted opportunity for growth. As a PARWCC Certified Professional Career Coach, it's my job to help you become happy talent. How? Glad you asked!
